Apple 98.5 FM is still here, and we’re looking ahead

Apple 98.5 FM hasn’t closed, and we’re not closing.

We’re still broadcasting for Bacchus Marsh and Moorabool, and we want our community to know we’re here. Earlier this year, there was uncertainty about the station’s future and plans to close were announced. Following donations and fundraising support, Apple FM announced on 2 July that the planned 5 July closure would not proceed.

We understand that some people may have heard the original announcements and missed the later update. If you thought your local station had gone, this is an invitation to tune back in.

A new committee and a shared focus

Apple FM is moving forward with a new committee led by President Josh Pearson. Our focus is on supporting the people who keep the station running, strengthening community connections and encouraging more locals to take part.

Local voices belong on local radio

Operated by Bacchus Marsh Community Radio Inc. and based at Darley Hub, Apple FM is run by volunteers who care about the community we serve.

From a wide range of music to conversation and community information, our programs give different interests and perspectives a place on air. Our involvement in local events, commemorations and sporting broadcasts is another way we connect with the people around us. We want to keep building those connections. If you’re part of a local club, volunteer organisation or community group with a story to share, we’d love to hear from you.

Share this article, mention it to a neighbour, or encourage a friend to tune in to 98.5 FM. If someone tells you they thought the station had closed, please point them to this update.
